Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has raised concerns over his fitness ahead of the Super Cup final against Barcelona after suffering a muscle injury in their recent 3-0 win over Mallorca.
Bellingham and Fitness Woes
Carlo Ancelotti expressed worry over Bellingham’s fitness, as the midfielder pulled up late in the game, showing signs of discomfort following a muscle injury. Despite this, Bellingham continued to play until the final whistle, even participating in a post-match altercation on the pitch.
Ancelotti also dealt with concerns over Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, both of whom faced injuries during the same match. Valverde had to leave the field early with an adductor strain, while Tchouameni was withdrawn after a blow to the head.
Real Madrid’s Super Cup Final Preparations
Ahead of the Super Cup final against Barcelona on Sunday, Ancelotti addressed the fitness concerns in a press conference:
“I saw Tchouameni doing well on the bench. The doctor preferred to take him off because it was a blow to the head.
“Bellingham and Valverde… overloads. We didn’t expect the heat and, in my opinion, it affected the rhythm of the game.”
Later, Ancelotti confirmed that both Bellingham and Valverde had muscle strain issues, highlighting the unexpected heat during the match as a potential factor affecting their performance.
