According to reports, Saudi officials are planning an unprecedented €300m bid for Vinicius Junior, which would shatter all previous transfer records. However, their ambitions don’t stop there. Al Hilal are also pursuing Rodrygo as a potential marquee signing to replace Neymar, whose contract was terminated ahead of his return to Santos.

Rodrygo as Neymar’s Successor?

With Mohamed Salah still considered the dream target, Al Hilal are keeping their options open by shortlisting several global superstars. Among them, Rodrygo is seen as an ideal replacement for Neymar due to his versatility, dribbling ability, and goal-scoring threat.

The Saudi club is reportedly tempting Rodrygo with the prospect of becoming the undisputed star of the team—a role he doesn’t fully enjoy at Real Madrid, where Vinicius Junior and soon-to-arrive Kylian Mbappe dominate the attacking hierarchy.

While Al Hilal target Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior remains the priority for Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), with a plan to place him at Al Ahli, where he would play alongside Riyad Mahrez, Ivan Toney, and Roberto Firmino.

When asked about the speculation surrounding Vinicius Junior’s potential move to Saudi Arabia, Rodrygo kept his response neutral:

“It’s a very personal thing, I don’t know what’s going on. The only advice I can give him is to keep scoring lots of goals and playing a lot like he’s been doing in this shirt.”
