Belgian Goalkeeper Reacts to Man Utd Transfer Links
Rising Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens has responded to rumors linking him with a potential move to Manchester United. The Royal Antwerp shot-stopper, who has impressed in his first full season as a starter, admitted that if a serious opportunity arose, he would have to “think about it seriously.”
With United reportedly in the market for a goalkeeper, Lammens could emerge as a long-term option—especially with Altay Bayindir’s future uncertain due to limited playing time behind Andre Onana.
Lammens on Man Utd Interest: “It Was a Wow Moment”

Speaking to Gazet Van Antwerpen, Lammens acknowledged his surprise at the transfer speculation:
“I’ve only played one full season at Antwerp. If something comes along that I can hardly say no to and that will benefit the club, I’ll have to think about it seriously. But if I’m the starting goalkeeper here for another year, that’s no problem.”
His Antwerp teammates have already begun teasing him about the Manchester United links, something he finds amusing:
“When I made a save in training, it was ‘United this, United that’. Funny, I would do it the other way around too. But you can’t dwell on it for too long.”
Could Lammens Be a Good Fit for the Premier League?
The 22-year-old goalkeeper believes his physicality and playing style align well with English football:
“The Premier League is the best competition in the world, and my profile—my stature and way of playing—fits well. You have to be physically strong there, and that suits me.”
While he remains focused on Royal Antwerp, Lammens is clearly open to the possibility of playing in England in the future.
Manchester United’s Historic Ties with Antwerp
Manchester United and Royal Antwerp share a long history, as the Belgian club served as an unofficial feeder team for United in the 1990s and 2000s. Players like Jonny Evans, Tom Heaton, Ryan Shawcross, and Danny Simpson all spent time on loan at Antwerp before making their mark in England.
