Tactical Tensions at Manchester United

Ruben Amorim’s tenure at Manchester United has faced early turbulence, with reports suggesting that some players are questioning his tactical approach. The former Sporting CP boss has struggled to implement his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation, leading to concerns about whether the squad is suited to this system.

Dressing Room Concerns

According to reports from the Daily Mail, certain Manchester United players have privately discussed whether a return to a four-back formation might yield better results. With just ten wins from his first 20 games and a goal difference of +1, frustrations are mounting both within the squad and among supporters.

While Amorim has not yet lost the dressing room, there is said to be “growing concern” that sticking rigidly to his tactical vision could prolong the team’s struggles. Players are reportedly urging the manager to be more flexible in his approach to adapt to the squad’s strengths.

Transfer Market Solutions?

Amorim is keen for the club to reinforce key positions to better fit his system. January signing Patrick Dorgu was brought in to add depth at wing-back, and United have also been linked with Sporting CP’s Geovany Quenda. However, the current squad remains unconvinced that transfers alone will resolve their tactical struggles.

Premier League Struggles

United currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, a worrying 14 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea. Their upcoming fixture against fellow underperformers Tottenham Hotspur is seen as a must-win if Amorim is to steady the ship and gain the full backing of his squad.
