Travel Chaos and Training Cancellations
Liverpool’s preparations for their FA Cup third-round tie against Accrington Stanley on Saturday have been significantly disrupted by snowy weather in northwest England.
After Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham Hotspur in London, the Reds had planned to return to Merseyside on a quick flight. However, adverse weather conditions prevented a safe landing at John Lennon Airport in Liverpool, forcing their flight to divert to Birmingham.
Ekip ve personel daha sonra karayoluyla Merseyside’a geri götürüldü ve ancak perşembe sabahının erken saatlerinde evlerine varabildiler.

Training Session Cancelled
In light of the travel chaos, Liverpool decided to cancel Thursday’s scheduled training session, which was expected to be a warm-down following their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham. The team will reconvene on Friday, hoping the disruption has no lingering impact on their FA Cup preparations.
Challenges for Both Sides
Accrington Stanley, Liverpool’s League Two opposition on Saturday, have also faced difficulties due to the weather. They were forced to abandon their outdoor training ground and instead held sessions at an indoor facility earlier in the week.
Despite these challenges, Accrington have been in good form in 2025, winning both of their league games since the start of the year. They reached the third round of the FA Cup after victories over sixth-tier Rushall Olympic and League Two side Swindon Town.
Expected Squad Rotation
Liverpool manager Arne Slot fielded a near full-strength lineup against Tottenham, making their 1-0 loss surprising given the contrasting Premier League form of the two sides this season. With Accrington presenting League Two opposition, Slot is now expected to rotate heavily, giving fringe and younger players an opportunity to shine.
Accrington’s rise to 19th in League Two and recent FA Cup form suggests they won’t be pushovers, adding intrigue to Saturday’s matchup at the Crown Ground.
