Jude Bellingham’s representatives have reportedly initiated discussions with Real Madrid over a potential salary increase. Despite joining the Spanish giants just 18 months ago, the England international is looking to secure a contract that better reflects his importance to the squad.

Bellingham arrived at Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 on a six-year deal after a €103 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund. His impact was immediate, delivering a sensational debut season in which he scored 23 goals across all competitions and played a pivotal role in Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League triumphs.

This season, despite operating in a slightly deeper role to accommodate Kylian Mbappe’s arrival, Bellingham remains one of the most decisive players in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. The 21-year-old is the only Madrid player to have reached double figures in both goals and assists so far this campaign.

However, despite his outstanding contributions, Bellingham’s salary remains significantly lower than some of his high-profile teammates.

Salary Gap Between Bellingham and Madrid’s Top Earners

Reports from Spain suggest that Bellingham currently earns between €8-10 million per year after tax. In contrast, Kylian Mbappe’s signing-on bonus alone guarantees him an additional €8 million annually, while his base salary is around €15 million per year. Vinicius Junior is also believed to earn a similar figure to Mbappe, highlighting the wage disparity within Madrid’s squad.

Although inquiries into a contract revision are said to be widely known within the club, negotiations remain in the early stages. At the moment, Madrid’s primary focus is securing a new deal for Vinicius Junior, whose current contract expires before Bellingham’s. The Brazilian winger has already rejected an initial offer but remains committed to staying at the club long-term.
