Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has confirmed that Robert Lewandowski will be available for Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Benfica.

The Polish striker was left out of the squad for the weekend’s La Liga fixture against Osasuna, but Flick assured fans that it was a precautionary measure rather than a serious concern.

Lewandowski Fit and Ready for Benfica Test

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Flick provided a positive update on Barcelona’s top scorer.

“Lewandowski is back and available to play tomorrow. He is in top form. On Saturday, we decided to rest him due to minor fatigue.”

The 36-year-old forward has been an ever-present figure for Barcelona this season, featuring in all 41 matches and scoring an impressive 34 goals across all competitions.

His durability and goal-scoring prowess have reportedly convinced the club to extend his stay for at least another season.

Flick: “We Have to Be 100% Focused”

Barcelona head into the second leg with a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first meeting in Lisbon, but Flick has warned his players against complacency.

“Nobody is taking it for granted that we are through to the quarter-finals. We have to win.”

The German coach emphasized the importance of staying alert against Benfica’s counter-attacks, adding:

“We have to pressure more and defend well. Benfica are dangerous on the break, and we must be careful. It’s an important moment for the club, and we want to do well.”

While Lewandowski’s return is a major boost, Barcelona will be without centre-back Pau Cubarsí, who is suspended after receiving a red card in the first leg.

Can Barcelona Secure Their Place in the Quarter-Finals?

With Lewandowski back, Barcelona will look to finish the job at Camp Nou and advance to the Champions League quarter-finals. But will Benfica mount a comeback?
