Liverpool Reportedly Monitoring Napoli Star
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has played down rumors linking his side with a move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the Georgian international.
Napoli are reportedly open to offers for Kvaratskhelia, who has also drawn serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, with the latter rumored to be exploring a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford.
Slot Dismisses Transfer Speculation
When questioned about Liverpool’s alleged interest, Slot brushed off the rumors as typical transfer window chatter.
“What I make of that is that it’s January,” Slot said in response.
“I think I said after the West Ham game not to disappoint me—please come up with all these clubs and players linked to us or those leaving us. That is what’s happening now.
“Nine out of ten times, 99 out of 100 times, by the end of the window, it’s clear these stories weren’t true. So what can I comment on? The rumors? Keep going for it, but no comments from our side.”
Potential Swap Deals in Play
Reports suggest that Napoli are interested in Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa as a replacement for Kvaratskhelia. Speculation even hints at a swap deal involving Darwin Núñez being considered. However, no official moves have been made by any of the involved clubs.
Meanwhile, both Chelsea and Liverpool are said to be monitoring the situation closely. While neither club is actively pursuing a winger, the opportunity to sign a long-term target like Kvaratskhelia has reportedly sparked internal discussions.
What’s Next for Kvaratskhelia?
With PSG and Manchester United still in the mix, Napoli may use the remainder of the January window to evaluate offers. Liverpool’s stance remains cautious, with Slot’s comments suggesting the club is not ready to act on the speculation at this stage.
For now, Kvaratskhelia’s future hangs in the balance, but with his availability catching the attention of Europe’s top clubs, the situation could evolve rapidly in the coming weeks.
