Rashford’s Absence and Man Utd’s Struggles
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has openly addressed Marcus Rashford’s ongoing exile from the squad, urging the talented forward to improve his attitude and performance levels. Rashford, who has struggled to impress Amorim in training, remains out of favor, and recent reports suggest that communication between the two has broken down.
Amorim: “We Need Rashford, But He Must Change”
Amorim did not hold back when discussing Rashford’s absence, emphasizing the need for higher standards.
“Our team should be so much better with Rashford. But he has to change. If he changes, we are more than welcome to put in a talent like Rashford, and we need it.”
Despite the media portraying their relationship as strained, Amorim insists the decision is purely based on team standards.
“It’s not personal, I have nothing against Marcus. I have to make the same rules for everybody, and for me, it’s so simple.”
“I Won’t Play Anyone Who Doesn’t Give Their Maximum”
Recently, Amorim made headlines with a bold statement suggesting he would rather play 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital over an unmotivated player. He later clarified his remarks:
“The situation is the same for every player. I will not put any player that doesn’t give the maximum. When I feel it’s the right moment, I will put any player to play.”
The manager made it clear that Rashford’s return depends entirely on his commitment to the team’s expectations.
Can Rashford Turn Things Around?
Manchester United has struggled to find consistency in Rashford’s absence. Amorim admitted the team desperately needs his quality in attack:
“We need goals, we need one-on-one situations, we need threat in the final third.”
Fans are now left wondering: Will Rashford step up and reclaim his spot in the starting XI, or will his time at Old Trafford come to an abrupt end?
