AC Milan Eye Loan Move for Rashford

Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly considering a loan move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The England international has been surrounded by transfer speculation after admitting in December that he is seeking a “new challenge.”

Rashford’s admission followed his exclusion from last month’s Manchester derby by head coach Ruben Amorim, who criticized the player’s off-pitch lifestyle. This led to a four-game exile, intensifying rumors about his future. Despite Amorim’s insistence that Rashford could work his way back into United’s starting XI, the club has reportedly decided to put their academy graduate up for sale.

Interest from AC Milan and Napoli

AC Milan, under newly appointed manager Sergio Conceicao, have emerged as potential suitors. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former Manchester United player and an operating partner at Milan’s owners RedBird Capital, could play a key role in bringing Rashford to San Siro. Ibrahimovic’s influence on squad building was evident last summer, with his bold statement:
“The manager manages, the club does the rest. The window will close when I say it does.”

Meanwhile, Napoli, currently topping the Serie A table under Antonio Conte, have also shown interest in Rashford. Conte, known for signing former Premier League players, oversaw the arrival of Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku last summer. However, Rashford’s high wage demands—reportedly over £325,000 per week—and an expected transfer fee of at least £40m make the move challenging for Napoli.

United Open to Loan with Obligation-to-Buy

Manchester United are willing to consider loan offers for Rashford, provided they include an obligation-to-buy clause. The potential transfer fee, aimed at removing Rashford’s significant wages from the club’s books, is seen as a crucial factor in any deal.

Rashford’s situation has also caught the attention of Saudi Pro League clubs, but offers from elite European teams remain limited. AC Milan’s interest could mark a turning point for the 27-year-old forward, who is eager to revive his career.
