Betis Open to Keeping Antony Beyond Loan Spell
Real Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon has admitted that there is a “possibility” the club will make Antony’s loan move from Manchester United permanent after the Brazilian’s impressive start in La Liga.
The 24-year-old winger, who struggled for game time at Old Trafford, joined Betis in January and has hit the ground running, earning back-to-back MVP awards in his first two appearances despite Betis failing to win against Athletic Club (2-2) and Celta Vigo (2-3).
Manchester United’s Stance & Betis’ Interest

Antony’s loan deal does not include an option to buy, but Betis maintain a strong relationship with United, which could pave the way for a permanent move.
Speaking to Radio Sevilla’s Libre y Directo, Alarcon revealed:
“The other day, the CEO of United called me. We sent them all the plays and details of the player from the whole week so they can see we are looking after their asset. There is very good chemistry with Manchester United and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?”
Antony’s Reaction to His Future in Spain
While Antony has not confirmed his long-term plans, he acknowledged how important it is for him to be playing regularly again.
“Individually, it’s been a very important start for me. All I wanted was to play, to be able to be on the pitch. These have been two games in which I’ve felt very good, I’ve scored my first goal. We have to keep working so that the victories come. That’s what I want most.”
Will Antony Stay in La Liga or Return to Old Trafford?
Antony’s resurgence at Betis raises questions about his future. Should Manchester United give him another chance, or is a fresh start in Spain the best move for his career?
