Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has acknowledged the huge pressure on his team as they prepare to face Real Sociedad in the Europa League last 16 second leg on Thursday night at Old Trafford.

With United struggling for consistency in the Premier League, their hopes of securing European football next season could hinge on their Europa League campaign.

Eriksen: “We Know the Pressure on This Game”

Speaking to The Guardian, Eriksen stressed the importance of the match, emphasizing that winning the Europa League could be their best route into next season’s Champions League.

“We know the pressure, we know the situation in the league. To get into Europe next season, we have to win a lot of games or go through the Europa League.”

The Danish playmaker admitted that United “belong in Europe” and are determined to fight for their place:

“We don’t belong in the lower half of the Premier League. We have to be higher. This club is about winning trophies, so we have to play well to go through.”
