Both players were on the scoresheet in the match at Villa Park. Ramsey opened the scoring early on, taking advantage of a mistake by Spurs goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. Rogers later secured the win with a second-half goal, making Mathys Tel’s late strike for Tottenham nothing more than a consolation.

Following the win over Spurs, Ramsey spoke about the impact of the new signings.

“I think this is one of the best squads we’ve had,” he told BBC One. “With Rashford and Asensio coming in and Donyell Malen starting, the squad depth is unbelievable. The competition is pushing everyone to raise their game.”

Rogers echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing how the new arrivals will elevate the team’s overall level.

“It’s massive to have players like that in the team,” he said. “They’ve played at the highest level, and we can all learn from them. Hopefully, we push each other to improve.”

Both Ramsey and Rogers could find themselves in England manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans as the first international break under his tenure approaches. Meanwhile, Rashford will aim to rediscover his best form at Villa in hopes of earning a return to the national team after missing out on England’s Euro 2024 squad.
