• Amad Diallo commits his long-term future to Manchester United

• Winger’s new contract runs until 2030, replacing his previous deal

• Reportedly declined offers from “two top clubs” to remain at Old Trafford

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has reportedly agreed to a new long-term contract with the club, committing his future until 2030.

Amad, a standout performer in an otherwise challenging season for United, has thrived under the leadership of Ruben Amorim after initially breaking through under former interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. The 22-year-old Ivorian’s previous contract was set to expire this summer, but rather than activating a 12-month extension clause, United have opted for a fresh five-and-a-half-year deal.

Key Details of the New Contract

  • Duration: The new contract runs until 2030, with no additional extension clause included.
  • Agreement: ESPN confirms that the deal has been agreed, and Fabrizio Romano reports that paperwork will be signed on Thursday.
  • Rejected Offers: Amad reportedly turned down offers from two top clubs to remain at Old Trafford.

Amad’s Journey at Manchester United

Amad Diallo

Amad’s path at United has been one of steady progress since his arrival from Atalanta in October 2020 as a teenager. While he initially found opportunities limited, he debuted under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in February 2021 and scored his first goal the following month.

Loans to Rangers and Sunderland followed, with his time at Sunderland being particularly fruitful. However, a preseason injury slowed his return to the first team in 2023/24.

Amad eventually broke into the team under Erik ten Hag towards the end of last season and impressed in the Community Shield. However, his form truly flourished under Ruben Amorim, contributing 13 goals and assists so far this season, with most coming after November. His equalizer against Liverpool in United’s last Premier League match further cemented his importance to the squad.

Looking Ahead

Should Amad see out his contract, he will spend his peak years at Manchester United, turning 28 just shy of its expiration. The winger’s development and commitment to the club highlight his ambition to leave a lasting legacy at Old Trafford.
