Reds Interested but Will Only Move Under One Condition

Liverpool are prepared to enter the race for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, but only if the striker is genuinely made available for transfer, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The 25-year-old Swedish forward has been in sensational form this season, scoring 19 goals in the Premier League, trailing only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah in the goal charts. Since his £63m move from Real Sociedad in 2022, he has scored 50 goals in 76 games, making him one of the league’s most sought-after strikers.

Newcastle’s Stance: No Plans to Sell Isak

Despite growing speculation, Newcastle have no current intention of selling Isak. Club CEO Darren Eales recently emphasized that the Magpies do not need to sell their star player for financial reasons. The club is even keen to extend his contract, which already runs until 2028.

However, a £150m bid could force Newcastle to reconsider, though Liverpool are not willing to engage in a bidding war.

Liverpool will only move for Isak if Newcastle make him genuinely available for transfer and are open to negotiations. They are not interested in a “wild goose chase.”

Arsenal, Chelsea & Barcelona Also in the Race

Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit of Isak. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer, while both Chelsea and Barcelona have been linked with the striker.

Arsenal, in particular, could view Isak as the perfect solution to their striker dilemma, given Gabriel Jesus’ inconsistency in front of goal.

Liverpool’s Attacking Overhaul This Summer

The Reds are expected to reshape their attack this summer, with potential departures of key players:
🔴 Darwin Nunez nearly left in January and could still be sold.
🔴 Luis Diaz & Diogo Jota face uncertain futures.
🔴 Mohamed Salah’s contract is winding down, and his future remains unclear despite reports he wants to stay.

With these uncertainties, Isak could be the ideal long-term signing—but only if Newcastle change their stance.
