Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Micky van de Ven’s injury status, confirming that the club is taking a cautious approach to ensure his full recovery. The Dutch defender, who has struggled with recurring hamstring issues, is being carefully managed to avoid further setbacks.
Tottenham’s Recovery Plan for Van de Ven
Since joining Spurs in 2023, Van de Ven has suffered four hamstring injuries. His most recent setback kept him out for seven weeks before he returned in January against Elfsborg. However, he was taken off during the match and hasn’t featured since.
Postecoglou reassured fans that there is no new injury concern, but Tottenham is prioritizing a long-term solution to prevent future problems.
“We’ve decided to take a different strategy with Micky. We want to make sure he’s completely ready. He’s working with different specialists, medical teams, and rehab staff to ensure a full recovery.”
When Will Van de Ven Return?
The Spurs boss expects Van de Ven to return to action within the next three weeks. His comeback will be crucial as the team also awaits the return of key players like Cristian Romero, Dominic Solanke, and Richarlison.
“It’s similar with Cuti [Romero]. His quad injury is taking longer to heal than expected. He has one more scan to confirm full recovery before he’s cleared to play.”
As Tottenham enters a crucial phase of the season, fans are eagerly waiting for their defensive reinforcements to return.
