Endrick Urged to Be Patient Amid Challenging Start at Real Madrid

Real Madrid have reportedly convinced 18-year-old Brazilian forward Endrick to remain patient and delay any decision about his future until the summer. Despite a tough start to his European career, the club believes the teenager’s potential will shine through with time.

Madrid secured Endrick in a high-profile €60m (£50m) deal when he was just 16, following intense hype surrounding his performances in Brazil. However, since officially joining the club last summer, Endrick has struggled to earn significant playing time, competing against stars like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappé.

Limited Playing Time and Growing Competition

Endrick has made 16 appearances for Los Blancos, amounting to just 250 minutes on the pitch, and he hasn’t scored since 17 September. His role in the squad is further complicated by the presence of other promising talents, including Brahim Diaz and Arda Güler.

Earlier this week, Endrick started in Madrid’s Copa del Rey match against fourth-tier Minera, a game many described as his “last chance” to make an impression. Although Real Madrid dominated the match with a 5-0 win, Endrick failed to find the back of the net.

Madrid’s Long-Term Vision for Endrick

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid have reminded Endrick of the importance of patience, drawing parallels with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. Both players faced similar challenges during their initial seasons but have since become integral parts of the squad. Notably, Endrick has already appeared in more games in his first season than either Vinicius or Rodrygo did during theirs.

For now, the young striker has no plans to leave the Bernabéu during the January transfer window. However, if his situation doesn’t improve, a reassessment is expected at the end of the season.

The Risk of Big Investments in Youth

While Real Madrid have found success with Vinicius and Rodrygo, Endrick’s struggles highlight the uncertainty of investing in teenage talents. Barcelona faced similar challenges with Vitor Roque, who moved on loan to Real Betis after just six months and has since scored four La Liga goals.
