Garnacho Linked with Napoli Move Amid Squad Reshuffle
Manchester United have turned down a £40m offer from Napoli for their talented winger Alejandro Garnacho. The 20-year-old Argentine had been targeted as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is on the verge of a high-profile move to Paris Saint-Germain.
This development comes amidst significant speculation surrounding the futures of United stars, including Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo, as manager Ruben Amorim continues to reshape the squad.
Garnacho’s Role Under Amorim

Since taking over as United’s head coach in November, Amorim has been working to implement his successful 3-4-3 system from Sporting CP. Although results have been inconsistent, Garnacho has adapted well and remains a key part of Amorim’s plans.
Ahead of United’s recent 3-1 victory over Southampton, Amorim praised Garnacho’s progress:
“That is clear. He has talent. I think he changed the way he sees himself. He’s finding the best way to play in this system and is improving during training.”
Garnacho started and played the full 90 minutes against Southampton, reinforcing his growing importance to the squad.
Rashford’s Uncertain Future
While Garnacho seems to have the backing of Amorim, Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is less certain. The 27-year-old forward has struggled for form and game time, prompting interest from several clubs.
AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly leading the race for Rashford, with Milan eyeing a loan deal and Dortmund considering a permanent move. On the domestic front, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also interested in a loan deal.
Despite earning £325,000 per week and being under contract until 2028, Rashford is believed to favor a dream move to Barcelona, although the Catalan club’s financial constraints make such a deal challenging.
