Yoro and Maguire Return from Injury

Manchester United will have key defensive reinforcements as they prepare to take on Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night. Head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that both Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire are back in the squad after recovering from injuries, giving the team a much-needed boost in their backline.

Yoro’s Comeback After Foot Injury

Teenage sensation Leny Yoro has been sidelined since suffering a foot injury in the match against Arsenal earlier this month. His absence saw United rely on alternative defensive options during their victories over Real Sociedad and Leicester City. However, after resuming training last Friday, the French defender is now fully fit and eager to contribute.

Speaking to MUTV, Yoro expressed confidence in his recovery, stating that he feels “really good” and is experiencing “no pain.” His return adds depth to Amorim’s defensive setup, which has been stretched due to multiple injuries.

Maguire Ready After Calf Issue

Harry Maguire, another crucial part of United’s defensive unit, also makes his return after dealing with a calf problem. The England international missed matches against Arsenal, Leicester, and both legs against Real Sociedad, but he is now fit to play. Before his injury, Maguire had established himself as a starter in Amorim’s preferred back-three system alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Yoro.

With Maguire and Yoro back, United will have a more stable defense against a Forest side that has shown attacking intent in recent matches.

Other Injury Updates & Team News

Despite the good news regarding Yoro and Maguire, United still have several players on the injury list.

  • Luke Shaw is still recovering and has started doing light drills with the team but is not match-ready.
  • Mason Mount has made progress and was on the bench in the last game, but his full return is yet to be confirmed.
  • Kobbie Mainoo is close to making a comeback but will not be available for this match.
  • Jonny Evans and Ayden Heaven are still in the recovery phase.
  • Lisandro Martinez remains unavailable.

On a positive note, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is set to be available for domestic action for the first time since February. However, young talent Chido Obi will be with the Under-18 squad for their FA Youth Cup semi-final against Aston Villa. The promising Danish forward has been in excellent form, scoring seven goals in his last three appearances in the competition.

How Will United Line Up Against Forest?

With Maguire and Yoro back in contention, Amorim has some key decisions to make regarding his starting XI. Will he revert to his usual three-man defense, or will he make tactical adjustments to counter Forest’s attacking threats?

What do you think? Should Maguire and Yoro start immediately, or should United be cautious with their return?
