Stuttgart Midfielder Attracts Major European Interest
Angelo Stiller,Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Liverpool. The23-year-old midfielder played a key role in Stuttgart’s impressive second-place Bundesliga finish, helping the club secure Champions League football for the first time in 15 years.
With Stiller being viewed as a potential successor to Toni Kroos, clubs across Europe are closely monitoring his situation. However, despite reports of a €40m (£33.5m) release clause, the actual price for acquiring Stiller could be significantly higher.
Stuttgart’s Clever Contract Clause Changes the Game
According to Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Stiller’s €40m release clause will not be active until the summer of 2026. But there’s a twist—Stuttgart have the option to buy out this clause for just €2m, meaning they can set their own asking price.
This clause effectively renders the release clause meaningless, forcing interested clubs to enter direct negotiations with Stuttgart if they want to sign the midfielder.
Stuttgart Confident About Keeping Stiller
Despite growing transfer speculation, Stuttgart’s chief executive Fabian Wohlgemuth has dismissed rumors of a summer exit:
“That is not an issue that is currently on our agenda. The player has committed himself to VfB without any ifs and buts, and we know exactly what we have in Angelo. And that is exactly the end of the matter.”
What’s Next for Stiller?
With Stuttgart having contractual control, clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich will have to pay well above €40m if they want to secure Stiller’s services this summer.
