- Squad Snub: Ansu Fati was left out of Barcelona’s squad to face Getafe, sparking renewed speculation over his future.
- Limited Playing Time: The 22-year-old winger has not featured in La Liga since November and was absent in key recent fixtures.
- January Exit Expected: Barcelona are actively working to find a new club for Fati before the January transfer window closes.
Fati’s Struggles Continue
Ansu Fati’s future at Barcelona appears increasingly uncertain as he was once again left out of Hansi Flick’s matchday squad for Barcelona’s clash against Getafe. The 22-year-old winger has struggled for game time this season, particularly in La Liga, where he has not played since November.
After a brief return from injury, Fati made a cameo appearance in the Copa del Rey victory over Barbastro but has not been part of any matchday squad since then. His absence continued as Barcelona travelled to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de Espana, where he was excluded from both the semi-final and final squads.
Clubs Show Interest
Spanish publication SPORT reports that Barcelona are looking to offload Fati, who spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, due to his limited role and high salary demands. With a reported weekly wage of nearly £200,000, Barcelona are likely to need to cover a significant portion of his salary if a move is made.
In the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are among the clubs showing interest in Fati, while Real Betis, Sevilla, and ambitious Serie A side Como, led by former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, have also expressed interest.
Loan or Permanent Move?
A loan move seems the most likely scenario, with Barcelona prepared to cover a significant portion of Fati’s wages. However, a permanent transfer is not entirely off the table, depending on the offers that come in. Barcelona are keen to offload the winger before the January transfer window closes, seeking a resolution to his future.
