Hansi Flick’s Side Continue Red-Hot Form as La Liga Title Race Heats Up

Barcelona’s Blistering Start to 2025

Barcelona are on fire in 2025, and their latest 4-1 thrashing of Sevilla is just another example of their unstoppable attacking force. Hansi Flick’s side has now scored 41 goals across all competitions since the turn of the year, setting a new club record that hasn’t been matched since 1943.

Despite ending 2024 with back-to-back losses, the Catalan giants have responded emphatically, remaining unbeaten in their first 11 matches of 2025. Their goal tally not only surpasses any other team in Spain but also outshines Real Madrid’s star-studded attack featuring Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham. While Madrid have scored five or more goals in four games this season, Barcelona have achieved that feat five times this year alone.

La Liga Title Race Intensifies

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid may still be at the top of the table, but Barcelona are now just two points behind after Madrid dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Atletico. Diego Simeone himself recently acknowledged that Barcelona are playing the best football in Spain right now.

Barcelona’s Supercopa de España triumph over Real Madrid, where they ran out 5-2 winners, further cements their status as genuine title contenders. With their current form, they could overtake Madrid sooner rather than later.

A Team Effort: 12 Different Goalscorers

One of the biggest strengths of this Barcelona squad is its goal-scoring diversity. Already in 2025, 12 different players have found the back of the net. Robert Lewandowski (8 goals) and Raphinha (7 goals) are leading the charge, but contributions have come from all over the pitch, making Barcelona a nightmare for opposing defenses.

This level of attacking variety hasn’t been seen at the club since 1943, when Barcelona’s legendary forward Mariano Martin played a key role in a goal-heavy squad. Martin’s performances helped Barcelona survive a relegation battle that season, a stark contrast to their current title aspirations.

Can Barcelona Maintain Their Momentum?

With their current goal-scoring form and unbeaten streak, Barcelona are building serious momentum in the La Liga title race. Do you think they can overtake Real Madrid and lift the trophy this season? Let us know in the comments!
