Defensive Overhaul in Full Swing
Manchester City have completed a deal to sign 18-year-old centre-back Juma Bah from AIK Freetong, adding another young talent to their defensive ranks. This move follows the earlier acquisitions of Vitor Reis from Palmeiras and Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens, signaling a significant focus on strengthening their backline during the January transfer window.
Rising Star Juma Bah
Juma Bah, a promising Sierra Leone international, is currently enjoying a breakout season on loan at Real Valladolid in La Liga. The teenager has made 14 appearances in all competitions, catching the attention of Europe’s elite clubs. Manchester City moved swiftly to secure his signature amidst competition, demonstrating their commitment to investing in young talent.
It remains unclear whether Bah will join City immediately or after completing his loan spell with Valladolid. There is speculation that Bah may be loaned to Lens, where he could gain further first-team experience before being integrated into Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Additional Transfer Activity at City
Bah’s signing would mark City’s third defensive addition this month, with Vitor Reis joining for a reported £30m and Abdukodir Khusanov arriving from Lens earlier in the window. However, the club’s transfer activity doesn’t end there.
City are also close to signing Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee just under £70m. Meanwhile, discussions have begun with Juventus over a potential return for midfielder Douglas Luiz, further underlining City’s ambition to maintain their dominance on both domestic and European stages.
