Agreement Reached with Real Betis
Manchester United have agreed to loan Brazilian winger Antony to Real Betis until the end of the season. According to Fabrizio Romano, all parties have reached a verbal agreement, with the deal pending medical checks and final paperwork.

Antony joined United from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a fee exceeding £80m. However, he struggled to meet expectations under both former manager Erik ten Hag and current boss Ruben Amorim. Having started just two Premier League games this season, the 23-year-old will look to reignite his career in La Liga.

Antony’s Struggles at United
Despite his significant price tag, Antony failed to deliver consistent performances for Manchester United. With only five goals in the Premier League since his arrival, the Brazilian recently saw limited action, playing just six minutes in United’s 3-1 loss to Brighton.

Following that defeat, manager Ruben Amorim made a damning assessment of the team, describing it as “possibly the worst team in Manchester United’s history.”

Fresh Start with Real Betis
Real Betis, managed by Manuel Pellegrini, are currently enduring a tough spell in La Liga, losing their last three games and sliding into the lower half of the table. Antony’s arrival is seen as a potential boost to their attacking options and a chance for the player to rebuild his confidence.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have not been heavily linked with any incoming transfers in January and are reportedly open to selling several players to raise funds for the summer transfer window.
