Ronaldo Pushes Al Nassr for Squad Improvements
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged Al Nassr to pursue Manchester United midfielder Casemiro in the January transfer window. The Portuguese star, who is in the final six months of his contract with the Saudi Arabian side, is keen to see the squad strengthened to compete with domestic rivals Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.
Ronaldo, who played alongside Casemiro for several successful years at Real Madrid and briefly at Manchester United in 2022, is said to favor a reunion with the Brazilian midfielder.
Casemiro Emerges as Key Target
Reports from The Telegraph suggest that Al Nassr have identified Casemiro as a priority target and recently cleared a foreign player slot in their squad by offloading Seko Fofana to Rennes.
Manchester United, under new head coach Ruben Amorim, are reportedly open to selling Casemiro, who has seen reduced game time this season. The Brazilian is one of the club’s highest earners, and his potential departure could generate around £30m in transfer funds.
Casemiro Open to Saudi Arabia Move
Casemiro himself is thought to be interested in a move to Saudi Arabia. He was previously linked with Al Ittihad during the summer, although they are no longer in the running for his signature. A transfer to Al Nassr could reunite the midfielder with Ronaldo and offer him a lucrative new challenge in the Saudi Pro League.
United’s Transfer Strategy Hinges on Outgoings
Selling Casemiro would enable Manchester United to fund reinforcements in the January window. Ruben Amorim has admitted that the club must offload players before pursuing new signings.
Top targets for United include Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes and his teammate Randal Kolo Muani, who could join on loan to bolster Amorim’s squad.
