Arsenal were brought back down to earth in the Premier League on Saturday evening, made to settle for a 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners had flown high on Tuesday when Real Madrid were the visitors in the Champions League, but it was a very different story this time in a game that never quite got going.
Arsenal were just about the better team – not that it was remotely one-sided – and were good value for the lead eventually given to them by Thomas Partey an hour in. But Brentford were never out of it and actually finished the strong once Yoane Wissa got them back on level terms.
